Clarity, Light & Eternal Structure

DIAMONDS

The diamond is the ultimate symbol of timeless beauty, purity, and everlasting value. For centuries, it has embodied strength and brilliance, unmatched by any other gemstone. Its fire and sparkle make it truly one of a kind.

The quality of a diamond is determined by the internationally recognized 4 Cs:

  • Color

From completely colorless to slightly tinted – the closer to pure white, the rarer and more precious. The top grade, D, signifies absolute colorlessness

  • Clarity

Formed deep within the Earth under extreme pressure, diamonds often contain tiny inclusions. The fewer and less visible these are, the higher the clarity and the value.

  • Cut

The cut unleashes a diamond’s full brilliance. Proportion, symmetry, and polish determine how perfectly it reflects light – from the ideal round brilliant cut to rare and refined fancy cuts.

  • Carat

A diamond’s weight is measured in carats. Yet its value is not defined by size alone, but by the harmony of all four criteria.

  • The diamond is the hardest known gemston

With a hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the diamond is the hardest known gemstone, virtually indestructible, and a true symbol of eternity. For this reason, it has been the stone of choice for engagement and wedding rings for centuries. Particularly rare are colored diamonds – the so-called Fancy Diamonds in shades of blue, pink, yellow, or green – which rank among the most coveted gems worldwide. The diamond unites natural strength with refined elegance – a gemstone that transforms jewelry into timeless icons.

  • The diamond is more than a symbol of luxury

The diamond is more than a symbol of luxury - it is an architectural wonder of nature. There is precision in its structure, a light in its brilliance that never fades. No other gemstone combines hardness with purity, reduction with impact so impressively. In RABBIT IN THE HAT, the diamond is not the focus, but a contrast. It is a silent amplifier - of form, surface and idea. We use it purposefully: as a point of light in a ring, as a fault line in an organic structure, as a precise response to the opulence of gold.

Our selection at RABBIT IN THE HAT

We only process natural, untreated diamonds from certified conflict-free sources. Origin and ethical standards are fundamental to us. Our preferred variants:

  • White diamonds - for clear, timeless brilliance
  • Champagne diamonds - with a warm sparkle, harmonious with gold
  • Gray diamonds - subtle, modern, understated
  • Black diamonds - striking, deep, almost metallic in brilliance
  • Blue diamonds - rare, precious, with mysterious depth
  • Salt-and-pepper diamonds - with visible inclusions, charmingly imperfect
  • Rough diamonds - natural, original, full of character

Each stone is selected with a view to its design effect - not by carat value, but by expression and balance in the design.

Certifications - What guarantees trust?

Certification plays an important role for high-quality diamonds - especially for white stones from approx. 0.3 carats. The following institutes are among the internationally recognized bodies:

  • GIA (Gemological Institute of America)
World leader. Considered the gold standard for diamond certificates, with objective and rigorous evaluations.
  • HRD Antwerp
European institute with a focus on scientific assessment and very precise graduation.
  • IGI (International Gemological Institute)

Widely used, especially in the jewellery trade. Good ratings, with slightly different criteria compared to GIA.
All our certified diamonds come from trustworthy sources with traceable origins and verified authenticity. For smaller stones or coloured variants (e.g. black, grey, salt-and-pepper), certificates are not always common - here, personal selection and visual inspection by experienced hands is what counts.

What diamonds mean at RABBIT IN THE HAT

At RABBIT IN THE HAT, a diamond is not a status symbol, but a design tool. It brings clarity to opulent shapes, accentuates calm surfaces and lends a new depth to reduction. Whether light or dark, cut or rough - for us, a diamond is not a piece of jewellery for others, but a mirror of our own attitude.
