Finest Gold With Substance Andattitude
The quality of a piece of jewelry begins with its material. At RABBIT IN THE HAT, we only use precious metals of proven origin and ideal craftsmanship.
Our focus is on high-quality gol,d indifferent alloys and colour variations, which is convincing both in terms ofdesign and technology, and offers a conscious alternative to industrial massproduction. -
Why Real Gold?
Gold is one of the oldest and most stable materials in human history. It is not only a symbol of durability and luxury, but also technically ideal for jewellery making:
It is corrosion-free, can be shaped precisely, does not react with the skin, and develops a unique patina over time - a sign of authenticity and character.
RABBIT IN THE HAT uses only solid gold. We deliberately refrain from using gold-plated carrier materials, as only real gold meets the long-term requirements for quality, radiance and skin compatibility. -
Which Gold Alloys are Used?
Depending on the design and area of application, we work with three tried-and-tested alloys:
- 22 carat gold (916) - extremely rich in gold, very warm in tone, ideal for soft, flowing shapes. This alloy is particularly expressive and has an almost archaic appearance.
- 18 carat gold (750) - the international standard for fine jewellery: robust, durable, with a rich sheen and outstanding processing properties.
- 14 carat gold (585) - slightly harder and lighter, ideal for more delicate pieces or everyday use.
All alloys are manufactured according to traditional standards in European refineries - with precisely controlled mixing ratios that optimally combine colour effect and durability. -
Yellow Gold, Rose Gold, or White Gold - What's the Difference?
In addition to the fineness, the alloy colour also determines the appearance of a piece of jewellery:
- Yellow gold is created by mixing it with silver and a little copper - it looks warm, classic and elegant.
- Rose gold contains a higher proportion of copper and looks soft, feminine and modern.
- White gold is alloyed with palladium or nickel and usually rhodium-plated to achieve a bright, silvery shine - ideal for clear, graphic designs.
At RABBIT IN THE HAT, the choice of gold tone is always a design decision - it supports the expression of the design, accentuates precious stones or deliberately creates contrasts with the skin.
Origin & Responsibility
Our precious metals come exclusively from certified suppliers within Europe who demonstrably use sustainable and fair procurement channels. A growing proportion of the gold we use also comes from recycled sources - in other words, reprocessed fine gold that has been extracted without new mining but is absolutely equivalent in terms of purity and quality. We believe that the origin of a material is part of its history - and part of the decision to wear conscious jewellery.
